with 43 participants coming from 10 European countries .
This seminar opened to 10 youth organizations from Europe has been supported by the "Youth in Action Programme" and the German foundation "RENOVABIS".
At the occasion of the "International Youth Day", MIJARC Europe in cooperation with its Bulgarian partner -Youth movement for development of the rural areas in Bulgaria organized on 12/08/2009 in Etropole (Bulgaria) a roundtable entitled "Youth for a fairer rural world".
This roundtable has gathered many famous guests like:
- Svetlana Lomeva - Vice Minister of Education, Youth and Sciences - “I am always glad to see young people who want to change to better our lives. I believe that together with colleagues from the ministry will create prerequisites for the development and growth of young people. Will keep the links up here, the General Assembly to realize the changes expected of us "- emphasized in his address to participants Svetlana Lomeva.
- Ivan Modev - Executive director of the national agency "Youth programmes and initiatives" - He gave concrete examples and opportunities for development of youth organizations through the Programme “Youth in Action”. Expressed his regret that most of the money under the program have been exhausted and many of the activities, which can be applied at the time are stopped. Share his great hope for change.
- Emil Dimitrov - Vice-chairman of the parliamentary commission on agriculture – “There is a huge need for investment and rural development and changes in the field of agriculture. And the new Governments will do everything possible to make these changes. ”
- Ilko Yordanov - Expert of "Open Society Institute", representing the NGO sector in Bulgaria – "There should be equality and equal opportunities for all members of society – youth, people in retirement and disadvantaged, minority representatives”. Mr. Yordanov give concrete examples for applying to the Programme “Rural development” and creation of local action groups.
- Daniel Georgiev - memeber of Nacional Parliament – “ I 'm sure the youth have a place in politics!
- Emil Georgiev - Mayor of the Municipality of Etropole – I’m glad to know young people who are fighting for change and a better way of life. Etropole Municipality will always support such youth initiatives and is open for partnerships”.
This roundtable has given the opportunities to the 50 participants to our seminar to share their realities and proposals of alternatives with important decision makers.
